Grant’s Trail Phase III –Trail Planning and Engineering

Access Engineering, LLC was responsible for the design of the extension of Grant's Trail into the City of Kirkwood.  This section of the facility is 2+ miles in length and was developed by the Great Rivers Greenway District.  It was completed in October 2006.  This project included a wide variety of improvements in addition to the 12' wide asphalt dedicated trail.

Two abandoned railroad bridges were retrofitted to allow for safe passage for pedestrian and bicycle traffic

Two new parking lots were built along the trail, one in the City of Oakland and one in the City of Kirkwood.  Both parking lots utilized permeable pavers in the parking areas, as an environmentally friendly design.
