Marie Dennis, PE, PTOE founded Access Engineering in 2000, and continues to serve as the Project Principal, Quality Manager, or Project Manager on all Access projects. She has extensive experience in the fields of transportation, traffic, site development, water and wastewater engineering. As an avid cyclist, Marie's passion has always been the design of non-motorized and multi-modal facilities. Therefore, all Access Engineering projects focus on sustainable and holistic design.
Many projects awarded to Access carry scope from design through construction, and Marie specializes in providing this full-scale offering. Marie has built and continues to develop a successful firm focused on delivering high quality project solutions. She deliberately invests in advanced training and technology, and hires the most dedicated and talented professionals to form effective project teams.
Mike Brown, PE - Transportation group lead
Mike Brown, PE, serves as Project Manager for transportation and site development projects at Access Engineering. He has over twenty years of experience in roadway engineering, drainage improvement design, and site engineering. Mike has a thorough understanding of managing transportation and site projects as the project lead, and also has experience providing transportation and site design support on multi-firm project teams.
Mike's experience spans the design of small commercial and retail sites to large interchange and interstate projects. He has designed roundabouts and incorporated low impact drainage improvements into client roadway projects. Mike specializes in DOT design and construction.
Sandy Wagner, PE, CFM, LEED green associate - water resources group lead
Sandy Wagner, PE, CFM, LEED Green Associate, serves as Project Manager for water resource projects at Access Engineering. Sandy has 12 years of civil engineering experience and with Access Engineering, working on projects of all disciplines.
Sandy specializes in managing water resources projects, including stormwater management, sanitary sewer design, streambank stabilization, private inflow reduction and water quality best management practices. She has significant experience leading water resources projects and providing drainage design for transportation projects.

Erica Ridgway has five years of civil engineering experience working for Access Engineering throughout her professional career. Erica leads data collection programs for Access Engineering, including preliminary study and private inflow reduction projects through field inspections, ARC GIS implementation, and home inspections. Erica also provides civil engineering design support on all civil engineering disciplines, with recent focus on water resources and site development. Her experience includes hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, sewer profiles, water quality best management practices, quantity tabulation, cost estimation, and utility coordination.

amy O'Brien - senior designer
Amy O'Brien provides drafting support for Access Engineering projects of all civil engineering disciplines, bringing nearly twenty years of industry experience to her role. Amy often provides horizontal and vertical alignment layouts, cross sections and earthwork calculations, traffic and erosion control layouts, signing, pavement marking, specifications, tabulation of quantities, cost estimating. She is proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microstation/GEOPAK and ArcGIS, and often trains new engineers in software and technology for project requirements. Amy incorporates her industry experience into her current project work, and provide innovative and creative insight for high quality design solutions.
Hanna Mclemore, eit - project engineer
Hanna McLemore is a Project Engineer at Access Engineering, specializing in water resources and traffic signal design. With both private and public sector industry experience, Hanna brings a comprehensive perspective to her role. Her design experience includes traffic signal design, ADA accessibility, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling with the use of HEC-RAS modeling software, sewer profiles, roadway design, signing, pavement marking, tabulation of quantities, cost estimating and drafting. Hanna has also assisted in field inspections and worked with survey crews from partnering firms to complete topographic surveys. She communicates with the survey crews to provide comprehensive drafting services.
kaitlin ford, eit - project engineer
Kaitlin Ford is a Project Engineer at Access Engineering, specializing in transportation and site design. Kaitlin's transportation design experience includes streetscape and trail design, creating easement exhibits, reviewing construction shop drawing, and drafting of other necessary design details. She also supports field investigations and property inspections for private inflow reduction projects, implementing ArcGIS into fieldwork inspection. She uses AutoCAD / Civil 3D and Microstation / GEOPAK software regularly for her current projects. Kaitlin has recent experience providing infrastructure design solutions for private and public sector clients.
diane karl, CPA - accounting
Diane Karl is the Accountant at Access Engineering, responsible for payroll, taxes, invoicing, company insurance, financial report preparation and other financial responsibilities. She participates in production forecasting meetings to provide invoice status on all Access Engineering projects. Diane also keeps Access Engineering's certifications and licensures updated and active.
